Chester Wallace, our founder, draws from a rich background in couture fashion, hospitality, and business. His experience is complemented by an MBA and ongoing studies Interior Design. Currently he also a candidate for Masters of Art in Interior Design with Fairfield University. His global travels inspire a design approach that blends cultural elegance with modern clarity, resulting in interiors that resonate deeply.
At Lyman Interiors, we believe a home is more than a space, its an organically growing extension of ourselves and an archive for life’s experiences. We collaborate closely with our clients, layering natural textures, honest finishes, and bespoke details to craft environments that are refined yet welcoming. Our work balances tradition and modernity, delivering quiet luxury that endures.
Meet the Owner and Principal Designer
Hi,
I’m Chester, the owner and principal designer at Lyman Interiors. My passion for interior design stems from my background in couture fashion and a lifelong passion for creating luxurious yet personal spaces. I believe design should truly resonate with and reflect those who interact with it. The best design combined the beauty of the world around us, functionality, and a sense of luxurious warmth… to me, that’s home.
My introduction into interior design is a bit unconventional. My experience with couture clothing design and construction honed my eye for textiles, colors, and the emotional impact that materials can have on us as human beings. Over time, I expanded into interior design, focusing on how spaces influence how that spaces impact everything we do in our daily lives. I also bring a diverse background in hospitality, banking, insurance, and business, all of which provide the strategic insight and guidance I use to manage projects efficiently while staying true to my clients' vision.
Traveling the world has been another key source of inspiration for me. From the elegance of Italian furniture and sculpture, to the simplicity of Scandinavian households, my experiences have enriched my perspective and influenced how I incorporate meaningful elements into my designs. Sometimes the inspiration comes from the most unexpected of places, whether it’s a piece of art that inspires memories of a trip to Bali leading my client and I down a path of coastal wabi-sabi maximalism, or a vintage find that holds personal significance that pushes us towards my beloved organic modern style with an Edwardian flare, there is no limit to what brings us joy!
My goal for Lyman Interiors will always be this, crafting sustainable luxury interiors that blend style, comfort, and personal meaning. Whether designing a single room or an entire home, I work closely with you to create the space that reflect your unique style. Blending your tastes and needs with the guidance to turn it into effortless luxury.
